When you think about Colombia, your first thought that comes to mind is drugs (honestly). Not a lot of people have truly experienced this incredible country and the beauty it offers. So I want to take the time and share with you guys the most amazing time I had in Medellin, Colombia! From what to wear, to places to see, I will share every detail with you guys so maybe one day you will be able to see the wonders of Colombia!!

Guatape, Colombia.

This little town is located about an hour away from the airport. It’s known for this huge rock you can basically climb to the top ( for you hikers out there). It also feels like you are in the Jurassic Park movie, it’s incredible.

Where we stayed:

We rented a beautiful modern cabin right on the lake from Luxé by The Charlee. This cabin was seriously AMAZING. Very clean and had a hot tub, which was perfect after doing a lot of walking around the town.

What to do?

There are many things to do in Guatape, from hiking to playing paintball in Pablo Escobars house. Yup, for you Narcos watchers out there, you can actually take a tour on Pablo Escobars vacation house, which was bombed by one of the other cartels, Los Pepes. You can also play paintball in his house! Even though, we didn’t play paintball on our visit we did go check out his house! We took a boat ride that was pretty awesome, it showed us around the whole town and all the beautiful scenery and vacation homes. The boat ride also took us to Pablo Escobar vacation home, so that’s one way to get to it!

What to Wear:

So for this part of town in March it gets a little warm, therefore I wore a COMFY dress with a denim jacket. Since it did get kind of cool during the boat ride, the jacket was perfect! I also recommend wearing some comfy shoes because you will want to do a lot of walking!
